Dumont Arbor Day 2022 was notable not only with the annual mayoral proclamation, but a an additional proclamation naming April 30, 2022 Ray Slaman Day, honoring his contributions to our borough, his achievement of passing the state Licensed Tree Expert exam, and sixteen years as President of the Shade Tree Commission.

Dumont Arbor Day 2021 was broadcast from our Arboretum via Facebook Live. The 2021 Award of Merit was given posthumously to our beloved fellow commissioner Kathleen Sheridan, and a bench at the Arboretum was dedicated to her memory.

Dumont has celebrated Arbor Day since 2006, planting a new tree at Veteran's Memorial Park, at Dixon Homestead Memorial Library, or in the Dumont Shade Tree Arboretum every year. Where have you seen our Arbor Day trees? How big have they grown?

Arbor Day 2020 was a unique celebration, accomplished virtually on Instagram because of the worldwide pandemic.
